Rocktown Beer Festival

Harrisonburg Downtown Renaissance presents the 4th Annual Rocktown Beer & Music Festival which features as always a great selection of serious craft beer and a stellar musical lineup.

Every year, 3,000 people converge on Turner Pavilion & Park to attend the event (which often sells out in advance), celebrating good beer, good living, good music and a great community. Whether rain or shine, it’s always a mighty fine time. So, get your tickets now and come raise a glass to Rocktown on April 26, 2014!

The Beer!

Every year we celebrate the quality and diversity of America’s craft beer culture. Each brewery is handpicked and will be represented at the festival by a member of that brewery. The breweries bring their flagship brew as well as a seasonal or rare beer, and with 60+ beers to sample even savvy beer fans will find something new to get excited about. Hard ciders are also included for sampling and wine is available for purchase.

The Music!

There’s a wide world of music out there and each year our stage showcases some of the best performances from local and nationally touring bands. Over the years we’re proud to have featured The Hackensaw Boys, The War On Drugs, Yarn, No BS Brass Band, The Steel Wheels, Snarky Puppy, Love Canon and more. This year we’re turning the dial to Bronze Radio Return, The Kelly Bell Band and The Deadmen. You better bring your dancing shoes!

The Place!

The Turner Pavilion (Farmer’s Market Pavilion) is the heart of the festival and houses all the beer vendors. The field next to provides a grassy area to relax and listen to music, sit down and get a bite to eat from a local food vendor, or take a quiet moment to wonder how you made it so far in life without you brand new favorite brew. The downtown location and proximity to the local restaurants and shops means that the festival can be a part of a larger day spent downtown, offering guests yet another reason to make it a full day of entertainment to look forward to and enjoy.

Know Good Beer Festival

What is the Know Good Beer Festival?

Know Good Beer is the only local small business hosting beer tastings while raising money for great causes.  Our goal is not to be the biggest but rather to provide craft beer lovers with an amazing selection of local, regional and national brews. In addition, we aim to provide maximum exposure to local craft brewers, artists, musicians, and mobile food vendors. Come join us in our casual, safe, fun atmosphere.

What Does My Ticket Buy Me?

Your KGB ticket entitles you to 24 four-ounce tastings. That’s 96 ounces of beer. Pace yourself. You also receive your own KGB pint glass with lines marked at 4, 8, and 12 ounces. KGB gives the beer enthusiast the option of using multiple pours at one time. Say you really love that Three Notch’d Hydraulian Red or Champion Missile IPA.  Go ahead and use 2, 3, or 4 pours at once, and then kick back with your friends and enjoy your beer while surrounded by music, art, food, and the beauty of Virginia in May.  Bigger pours mean less time in line.

What Kinds of Beer will be Available?

Beer typically falls into two categories: ALES and LAGERS.  But we’ll break that down much further with IPA’s, Browns, Reds, Pales, Bitters, Porters, Stouts, Wheats, Barleywines, Sours, Bocks, Dunkels, Pilsners, Exotics, and more.  We’ll also have a selection of ciders and gluten-free beers. Most times you will be served by a brewer or representative who will educate you on what you are tasting!

How Much are Tickets?

Early Bird Tickets (through April 1) $35

Regular Ticket (After April 1) $40
